Domestic sales growth slows in Nov-09

YoY domestic sales increased by 15% in Nov-09, below the 22% YoY increase seen in the first ten months of 2009. MoM numbers declined as a result of slower demand in the region.
Sales: Cement sales for Nov-09 stood at 3.0 million tons, reporting an increase of 15.4% YoY, but declining 2.6% MoM. The YoY growth is a slowdown from the 22% average seen in the first ten months of 2009.
Exports: Cement exports stood at 131,000 tons in Nov-09, down 7.7% MoM
Stock: Clinker stock as a percentage of cement sales increased to 340%. In
addition, cement stock as a percentage of sales also increased to 25.9% in Nov-09 from 23.6% Oct-09.
Market shares: In Nov-09, private players accounted for 19.6% of the domestic market vs. 14% a year ago. Amongst the listed companies, only Southern Cement and Tabuk Cement reported increases in market share of 0.1% each.
