Money Supply

Kuwait’s Broad measure of money supply (M2) continued its upward trend during November 2009, as it showed an increasing pace in growth for the third consecutive month, however still showing a slower groth momentum as compared to the beginning of the year; consequently M2 rose by KWD 265 million from that recorded at the end of October to reach KWD 24.99 billion as of November-09. The increase in M2 during the month is mainly attributable to the KWD 132 million increase in Quasi money compared to last month to record KWD 19.97 billion as of Nov-09. Furthermore, Net Domestic Assets (NDA) during the month grew by KWD 205 million on the back of the increase in claims on private sector, while Net Foreign Assets (NFA) saw a marginal increase of around KWD 63 million.
