MSM30 Index ended lower and closed at 6,242.26 points, down by 0.39 per cent. The MSM Sharia Index closed at 952.27 points, down by 0.45 per cent. Bank Muscat was the most active in terms of volume as well as turnover. Tuesday's top gainer was Construction Materials, up by 9.09 per cent while Computer Stationary, down by 6.81 per cent, was the top loser.
A total number of 846 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR5.43 million with more than 18.9 million shares changing hands. Out of 44 traded securities, 15 advanced, 18 declined and 11 remained unchanged. At the session close, Omani Investors were net buyers for OMR891,000 while Foreign investors were net sellers for OMR628,000 followed by GCC & Arab Investors for OMR262,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed at 7,722.20 points, down by 0.08 per cent. Al Madina Takaful, Oman & Emirates Holding, Al Madina Investments, ONIC Holding and DIDIC increased by 6.02 per cent, 1.63 per cent, 1.61 per cent, 1.38 per cent and 1.23 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index fell 0.47 per cent to end the day at 8,255.52 points. Construction Materials and Gulf International Chemicals increased 9.09 per cent and 0.84 per cent respectively. Computer Stationary, Raysut Cement, Al Anwar Ceramics, Oman Textiles and Al Hassan Engineering fell 6.81 per cent, 3.89 per cent, 1.05 per cent, 0.81 per cent and 0.81 per cent respectively.
