Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX), Chief Executive, Rashed Al Balooshi, has said that in the course of Abu Dhabi’s 2030 vision, ADX seeks to ensure the development of domestic debt and asset securitisation market through which institutional investors will be encouraged, and mechanisms such as funds will begin to exert a more long-term, mature influence.
Speaking at the Berlin Economic Forum, which concluded recently, he said that reward will be a more stable financial and market outlook, and one that is less affected by adverse market reactions.
The forum, organised by the Institute of Cultural Diplomacy, ICD, analysed trends in global economies and explored the potential for green industries, education, entrepreneurship and tourism to be used as drivers of sustainable economic growth.
The Berlin Economic Forum 2014 brought together over 300 world leaders coming from the fields of politics and economics together with senior academics and leading representatives from the private sector who engaged in presentations, lectures, seminars, panel discussions, and workshops.
The forum presented the myriad of opportunities offered by the emerging trends of sustainable economies, technologies and industries.
Highlighting the role of the Exchange in the Abu Dhabi 2030 vision as well as recent developments in the Abu Dhabi stock market, Al Balooshi said, “One of our leading strategic initiatives at ADX aims towards diversifying investment products which will create more vehicles for investing money that will help to stimulate long-term growth and diversification, as will the encouragement of more institutional investors.
