The ADX General Index earlier jumped up into the green territory; wavering in the same region it closed higher to 4,277.62 points on Monday 31st Dec 2013, up 68.14 points or 1.62 percent from its previous close.

Energy, Real Estate and Investment & Financial Services sectors rose more than 4 percent each. Energy and Real Estate followed them with 1.9 percent each. Banks and Industrail sectors advanced 1.4 percent each.

Only Consumer Staples sector declined 1.34 percent.

Al Dar Proeprties, Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank and Abu Dhabu National Energy Company surged 4.47 percent, 3.33 percent and 2.08 percent respectively amomgst the heavy weights.

Union Cement Company played well among all Abu Dhabi companies, marching higher by 14.58 percent.

Dana Gas Company topped the chart of most active stocks; the company liquidated roughly 293 million shares, capuring 41.24 percent of the overall market volume.

International Fish Farming Company dived to a maximum decline of 3.89 percent to close at AED 13.6.

Advancers outnumbered the declining stocks with a margin of 24 to 6.

The ADX total volume set sold around 710.24 million shares, a remarkable increase of 177.11 percent as compared to previous day’s trading session.
