Leading aluminium smelter Alba has announced it achieved five per cent of total man hours as training hours last year, well above the industry benchmark.

The company said it has achieved the level for the last three years in a row. To mark the achievement, Alba chief executive Tim Murray visited the company’s training department, where he was received by training manager Rawdha Al Aradi. Mr Murray met trainees and highlighted accomplishments.

“We believe that there is nothing more valuable than education,” he said. “As a corporate citizen proud of its Bahraini roots, Alba wants to ensure that our company is a unique and excellent place for our employees to work, and in line with the same, we remain committed to strengthening our learning culture and developing our workforce.”

The company said it has most advanced employee training and development programmes in the kingdom, wherein the employees are trained as per international standards of excellence in all fields.

The training department conducts various training courses with the aim of improving employees’ technical and leadership skills to maintain Alba’s position as a leader in the industry.
