Alba wins award for focus on sustainability

Alba has announced it won "The Green Era Award for 2015" for its "outstanding sustainable practices and environmental achievements".

The award is given by the French Otherways Association to companies and firms from both public and private sectors who have made sustainability a key driver in their business strategy.

"Alba continues to make great strides in its positive contribution to a greener world," Alba chief operations officer Isa Al Ansari said.

"We are proud to win the award which recognises the company as an environment-friendly aluminium producer and its ongoing commitment to responsibly manage its operations, thus making a positive impact on the environment."

Alba will be awarded the certificate and trophy at a presentation ceremony to be held on March 23 in Berlin, Germany, with participants from more than 130 countries.
