Aluminium Bahrain reports slightly higher production in H1

The Bahrain All Share Index fell 0.10% to 1,121.28 points Sunday. Shares of Aluminium Bahrain, known as Alba, closed unchanged at BD0.545. Earlier in the day, Alba said its production figures for the first half of 2012 rose by 1.7% to 443,533 metric tons "ahead of the company's own forecast for the period." Alba added that "Value-Added (VA) sales continued to gain momentum in the in second quarter of 2012 reaching 67% up from 63% in first quarter. For H1 2012, Alba averaged 65% for VA sales slightly below 67% in H1 2011 due to the slowdown in Europe in the first quarter of 2012."
