In a move that reinforces its commitment in the region, AXA Gulf - one of the non-life international insurers in the Middle East - has announced a one-hour guaranteed roadside assistance service , in case of an emergency or breakdown, for all subscribers.

The company has also unveiled a Road Safety campaign on radio to educate UAE drivers on the importance of safe driving, tips on how to handle emergencies while on the road and hints on becoming environmental friendly when driving. The radio campaign is aimed at reaching out and engaging maximum number of people across the UAE and spread the importance of road safety.

The launch of the guaranteed roadside assistance and road safety drive is part of AXA's Spring 2012 Campaign, which runs till June 30, 2012, offering a host of unmatched benefits on motor insurance to customers and at no additional cost.

As part of the new AXA guarantee, if the roadside assistance fails to reach the breakdown site within an hour of request (in the surb areas of Dubai and Abu Dhabi), AXA will pay the customer Dhs150. The new added value is another proof of AXA taking care of its customers and ensuring it always provides the best service . It is the first service guarantee on the market done by an insurance company with a money compensation.

Mr Jérôme Droesch, CEO of AXA Gulf, said: "Customers are more and more looking for value for money deals. We show our customers that we can stay one of the most competitive insurer on the market and still increase our outstanding quality of service at no additional cost. Hence, we are offering the one-hour guaranteed assistance with a compensation clause. Our strategy is to get closer to our customers and to be available whenever they need us - everywhere!"

According to official statistics, road accidents have been one of the major causes of death across the UAE, caused mainly by over speeding, jay walking and failing to wear a seatbelt.

"The Road Safety campaign is part of our larger goal of promoting safety through education. Many road deaths and injuries can be avoided if people simply applies the basic safety rules such as driving within the speed limits, adhering to pedestrian rules or wearing seat belts. To help get this message across, we conceptualized the radio campaign to reach out to a larger mass," added Mr Droesch.

In a concurrent promotion, customers taking up AXA motor insurance before June 30 have been offered up to three months car insurance absolutely free. While all new subscribers are entitled for two months' insurance free automatically, the third month's fee will be waived off if the customer signs up for AXA Home Insurance.

He added: "Home Insurance has become increasingly vital amidst the various incidents reported off late. More and more people are looking to insure their homes and our added feature is aimed at encouraging more people to go for the same and ensure peace of mind. Remember that home insurance can start as less as 1aed per day"

In the past few years, AXA Gulf has demonstrated its commitment to being available, reliable and attentive. AXA Gulf massively invested in state-of-the-art call centres and also in its Internet solutions and extended its presence through walk-in shops in malls across the region.

Thanks to these investments, AXA Gulf now provides a unique range of contact points for its customers: brokers, Internet, walk-in branches, mall shops and the telephone. The company also achieved double-digit growth in 2011 offering the entire gamut of insurance solutions - medical, motor, SME, large risks etc.
