Bahrain Bourse will have the largest full-colour outdoor financial LED ticker in the Gulf region to display live trading activity of listed companies and other related information during and after trading session.

It signed an agreement with Wavetec to instal the ticker. The agreement was signed by bourse director Fouad Rashid and Wavetec chief executive officer Ahmed Feraz.

"The signing of the agreement comes in line with the bourse's ongoing efforts to provide investors with more channels that enable them to monitor trading activity and price movements of securities in the market," Mr Rashid said.

The LED ticker will also inform citizens, residents and visitors from GCC and other countries on deals conducted by listed companies and the bourse's location.

Mr Rashid said the size of the outdoor LED ticker is 128 sqm, which makes it the largest full-colour financial LED ticker in the Gulf region. The bourse has also the longest full-colour indoor running electronic ticker among GCC bourses with a length of 62 metres.

The project is expected to complete within six months. The ticker will be installed on the front top faade of the bourse location at the Bahrain Financial Harbour, overlooking the commercial district of Manama and the King Faisal Highway.

"The bourse will continue to take all the required and possible actions to make all information of the trading and listed companies available on the ticker, which will contribute in increasing the awareness of investors and others interested in the bourse. The bourse will also give listed companies and other institutions the opportunity to benefit from the ticker to shade light on products, services and facilities they offer to their clients and the public in Bahrain," he said.

Wavetec general manager Tobias Bessone said that "as part of its global vision Wavetec has been actively involved in projects which are aimed at promoting transparency and information dissemination. We are proud to be technology partners for Bahrain Bourse and our relationship goes back to a decade."

"Because we have been providing display solutions to financial markets in the Middle East for the past 20 years, we understand the needs and sophistication required for such projects making us the first choice vendors for display solutions. We thank Bahrain Bourse for choosing us as their technology partners and we look forward to strengthening our relationship with them," he said. He also added that this project includes a customised LED ticker that was designed according to the bourse's technical specifications.
