BankMuscat, the flagship financial institution in the Sultanate, has extended lead support as one of the main sponsors of the 5th Beach Handball World Championship hosted by the Sultanate. Twenty-four top teams in the men’s and women’s categories are vying for top honours in the world championship played at Al Musannah Sports City from July 8 to 13. The Sultanate’s men’s team is a top contender for the championship title.

The BankMuscat gesture is a reflection of the national duty for corporates in Oman. As the nation’s leading financial institution, BankMuscat aims to strongly convey the message of support to national and international sporting events so as to motivate others to follow suit and provide the required support. We look forward to seeing Oman as a favourite destination for international sporting events. As the Beach Handball World Championship gets under way, BankMuscat joins the nation in wishing good luck to all the participating teams.” BankMuscat is a major supporter of games and sporting events. The bank recently felicitated the Oman hockey team which recorded an impressive performance as runner-up in the 4th Asian Hockey Federation Cup in Bangkok, Thailand and for the first time qualified for the Asia Cup.

The Bank was also the first corporate to announce financial support to Oman national football team playing in the Asian qualifier for 2014 Fifa World Cup in Brazil and 2012 Olympics in London. During the 17th, 18th and 19th GCC Cup tournaments, BankMuscat led by example, being the first private sector institution to announce cash bonanza for the national football team.
