Bahrain Telecommunications Company (Batelco), the kingdom’s leading communications solutions provider, launched live demos for Yota Devices’ YotaPhone 2 for guests at the telecom firm’s lounge at the Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix.

The device, exclusively available from Batelco, combines Android familiarity with two fully touch-enabled displays with very different personalities, said a statement.

The front display is a high-definition 1080p Amoled screen that is perfect for everyday use such as social networking, browsing, watching videos or playing games.

Turn the phone around and one will see the other front EPD screen, which uses a Yota Always-On Display that is ideal for e-reading, notifications, outdoor visibility and much more.

Muna Al Hashemi, Batelco’s acting chief executive officer, said that Batelco was delighted to welcome Yota Devices vice president for Middle East and Africa Abdul Karim Sawan to Batelco’s Corporate Lounge and to have the support of Yota Devices in demonstrating the YotaPhone 2 for Batelco’s guests

“Bahrain is a key market for YotaPhone’s expansion strategy in the Middle East. We believe that the second generation phone, with its unique features and our partnership with Batelco, will surely be a hit in Bahrain,” added Sawan.

The YotaPhone 2 was also on sale at Batelco’s Retail Shop at the Bahrain International Circuit’s (BIC) Welcome Centre during the Grand Prix Weekend, with much interested generated from visitors.
