Bahrain-based Batelco, a leading digital communications solutions operator, has received the ISO Certification in Business Continuity (ISO 22301:2012), making it the first telecom company in the Kingdom to win the recognition.
The certification, received for Batelco’s Access Network Line Plant Assurance and Protection was awarded following a thorough auditing process conducted by Certification body Bureau Veritas.
A number of Batelco teams, headed by the Business Continuity team, worked together to complete the comprehensive Business Continuity Management System to meet all international standard requirements which was verified by the Bureau Veritas auditing team.
Gaining the certification proves Batelco’s due diligence in continuity of services to its customers at all times and supporting the Company’s efforts for meeting customers availability and recoverability requirements, including compliance with International laws and regulations.
Batelco Bahrain CEO Muna Al Hashemi said that the International Standards Organization, (ISO 22301:2012) Business Continuity certificate validates the hard work of Batelco’s continuous management and the team’s efforts in Business continuity planning, implementation and continuous improvement towards customers’ experience journey, while continuing to prioritize the needs of all customers.
Batelco Bahrain general manager Human Resources & Corporate Services Suhaila Alnowakhda presented the award to the managers of the certified department. The chief executive of Certification Bureau Veritas Bahrain, Zulfiqar Haider, was in attendance at the event.
Alnowakhda said that Batelco is proud to be the First in the Kingdom of Bahrain to achieve the ISO 22301:2012 Business Continuity Certification which confirms that Batelco takes its commitment to Business Continuity, meeting customers’ service level agreements, incident response and recovery strategies seriously.
“Our customers deserve full care and efficient delivery of Batelco services at all times. We are committed to our customers’ continuity of services in all our operations,” she said.
Haider said that the achievement made by Batelco through meeting ISO 22301:2012 international standards reflects the serious commitment of Batelco’s senior management and the continued efforts by the company’s teams aiming to achieve this goal.
