Manama: BBK has become the third lead empowerment sponsor for the Central Bank of Bahrain and Supreme Council for Women joint campaign to celebrate and promote the role of “Women in the Financial and Banking Sector”.

KFH-Bahrain and NBB were earlier announced as lead empowerment sponsors for the event being held under the patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, wife of His Majesty King Hamad and Supreme Council for Women president.

As part of the planned activities, there will be a series of events including a number of roundtable and town hall sessions that will bring industry leaders and women of all levels within the sector together to discuss and debate topics of importance.

These sessions will lead up to the main conference, to be held on November 30 at the Four Seasons Hotel Bahrain Bay. BBK chief executive Abdulkarim Bucheery said currently 35 per cent of BBK staff were women and many of them had reached senior, managerial level roles while the rest were on track for further growth and development.

“As an organisation, we always strive to support and co-operate with civil society institutions so that we can promote social and economic development in the kingdom,” he added.
