Brazil's consumer confidence deteriorated for the second consecutive month in June, data released by the Getulio Vargas Foundation showed Monday. The consumer confidence index dropped to 123.5 in June from 127.1 in May, which was lower than April's record high of 128.7.
The current situations sub-index, which measures households' views of the current economic situation, dropped to 139.1 in June from 145.5 in May.
At the same time, consumers' views of the future economic situation turned less optimistic during the month, with the relevant indicator falling to 114.9 from 117 in the previous month, marking the second consecutive fall.
