As part of its employee engagement and Emiritisation plans, Commercial Bank International (CBI) hosted an event to congratulate and celebrate the 12 months anniversary of its 20 UAE National graduates from CBI’s 2011/2012 National Development Programme (NDP). The event was attended by the Bank’s senior management.
The purpose of the NDP is to facilitate and support integration of UAE nationals into the private sector. The programme is designed to implement the latest human resource initiatives that will equip young UAE Nationals with the necessary knowledge and experience to enable them to work successfully in the banking environment and identify the leaders of the future.
The CBI has been successfully running the recruitment and training programme for UAE Nationals since 2005. The NDP is aimed at recruiting and training UAE Nationals who are determined to pursue a career in the financial industry. Intensive on-the-job training and functional job rotation is given to UAE Nationals across the bank. They spend three months training in the CBI Training Academy followed by a period of intense on-the-job training.
Kris Babicci, CEO of Commercial Bank International, along with senior management met each of the NDP graduates.
“Today’s event marks a success story in CBI’s efforts in Emiritisation to transfer banking and financial knowledge and experience to the young UAE local generation. These young and ambitious UAE talents are becoming valued bankers and will be an asset to our industry,” Babicci commented.
Zainab Noureldini, Head of Human Resources in CBI, said: “We are very proud of the level of our NDP graduates. All of the 20 graduates are now working in different departments of the bank such as branches, Retail, IT, Compliance, Marketing and Recovery.”
Sara Al Saadi, from Corporate Communications and Marketing, and one of the successful NDP graduates spoke on behalf of her fellow graduates: “Thanks to CBI, we now have careers, solid and progressive careers. My experience with CBI was great and challenging thanks to the support of top management. I speak on behalf of the NDP programme, we feel that the bank is growing and we are growing with it. We are proud to be a part of CBI’s success story and will do our best and work hard to achieve CBI’s goals. We can say that we are a part of the CBI family.”
