China posted a 6.9 percent year-on-year increase in crude oil output to exceed 200 million tons in 2010, reports Economic Daily, citing the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation (CPCIF).

A total of 36,700 large-scale enterprises in the petroleum and chemical industries recorded total output of 8.88 trillion yuan in 2010, up 34.1 percent year-on-year, accounting for 12.7 percent of total national industrial output

A total of 337 petroleum and natural gas companies recorded total output of over one trillion yuan in 2010. Output of natural gas totaled 94 billion cubic meters, up 12.1 percent year-on-year.

The total output of large-scale companies in the oil refining industry rose 38 percent year-on-year to 2.43 trillion yuan in 2010, with the volume of crude oil processed totaling 400 million tons, up 13.4 percent year-on-year.

For the year, the output of petroleum products rose 10 percent year-on-year to 250 million tons, with the growth rate up 2.2 percentage points from 2009.

A total of 33,200 large-scale chemical companies generated total output of more than five trillion yuan, up 32.6 percent year-on-year.

Shares of PetroChina (601857, 0857.HK) fell 0.79 percent to trade at 11.27 yuan at 14:24 today.
