China Knowledge quoted according to figures from the National Development and Reform Commission, China total logistics expense grew 12% YoY to CNY 3.4 trillion in the first five months of this year.
The growth rate was 0.2 percentage points higher than that in the first four months and 6 percentage points lower than that in the same period of 2011.
Of the total expense, CNY 1.8 trillion was transportation cost up by 11.2% YoY, CNY 12 trillion was storage cost up by 12.7% YoY and CNY 400 billion was management cost up by 3.4%YoY.
The value of goods transported by logistics industry grew 10% YoY to CNY 67.3 trillion in the first five months. The growth rate was 3.7 percentage points lower than that in the corresponding period of 2011. The value included CNY 61.3 trillion of industrial products and CNY 4.7 trillion of imported goods up by 10.7%YoY and 2.5%YoY.
The logistics industry saw its value-added output rise at a lower growth of 10.5% YoY to CNY 1.4 trillion in the 5-month period, including CNY 1 trillion in the transportation sector.
The country's fixed-asset investment in the logistics industry amounted to CNY 1.1 trillion in the first five months up by 8.5% YoY, The growth rate was 19 percentage points lower than that in the same period of last year.
