Czech Unemployment Rises In July

Unemployment in the Czech Republic increased from the previous month in July, data released by the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs showed Wednesday.

The unemployment rate rose to 8.3 percent in July from 8.1 percent in June. The latest figure matched economists' expectations.

The number of unemployed persons in the country increased to around 485,600 in July from about 474,600 in the previous month.

There were about 41,100 new job vacancies reported during the month, down from the previous month's 42,800, data showed.
