The much anticipated post-Ramadan rally driven by favourable cues from Asia-Pacific markets and Dubai World’s announcement on Friday that it has come to a formal agreement with over 99 per cent of its creditors to restructure approximately $24.9 billion of liabilities, saw Dubai Financial Market (DFM) moving past the1600-mark on Monday.
Trading at 1,626.59, the benchmark index was up 35.49 points at 11.30am with all sectoral indices setting the pace.
Major gainers on the first day of trading after 5-day Eid Holiday were Deyaar Development, Arabtec, Dubai Islamic Bank, Emaar, and DFM.
Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) was trading 36.13 points up at 2,567.85, with all sectors posting gains at 11.35am.
