Dinar down to 275 fils per dollar

21/04/2011 00:00 AST  KUNA

The exchange rate of the Kuwaiti dinar slipped to 275 fils per dollar on Thursday while it gained to 401 fils per euro, said the daily bulletin of Kuwait Central Bank.

The bulletin added the rate came to 450 per sterling pound and stayed unchanged at 3 fils per Japanese yen.

There was a general rise in main currencies against the US greenback and the yem amid return of optimism in the global markets in view of more than anticipated improvement in US home data, while Asian stocks also gained and restored investors confidence and prompted more dealing in high-return currencies.

The US dollar kept sliding against main currencies following the US economic data showed better than expected home sales in March.

Most corporate results in the US issued today on the first quarter accounts also indicate higher profit than anticipated. This promoted traders to shift attention from dollar and low-yield to euro and sterling and high-yield investments.
