Well, it wasn't a blip. That post-Fed jump in the dollar that crushed the euro down to its weakest point since August yesterday is still alive and well.
Right now, the euro is languishing at around $1.0935, after the contrast grew between the European Central Bank (which has flagged a potential cut to the deposit rate in December) and the Fed (which has been almost universally interpreted as having left a December hike in view).
The markets' implied probability of a US rate hike in December now stands at 48 per cent up from around 34 per cent before the Fed's statement yesterday.
