Eurozone inflation rose less than expected in January, final data from the Eurostat showed Monday.
Consumer price index, or CPI, rose 2.3% annually in January following the 2.2% increase in December. That was revised down from 2.4% reported in a flash estimate released on January 31.
On a monthly basis, consumer prices were down 0.7%, the official report showed. Economists had forecast 0.6% drop.
The core inflation was 1.1%, slightly up from a revised 1% in December, but lower than the 1.2% economists had expected.
