Inflation in France eased again in May, the latest figures from the statistical office Insee showed Wednesday.
Inflation, as measured by the harmonized index of consumer prices, slowed to 2.3 percent in May from 2.4 percent in April.
On a monthly basis, the HICP fell 0.1 percent. The figures matched economists' expectations.
Year-on-year, the consumer price index rose 2 percent, the slowest pace since July last year. The outcome was in line with expectations.
The statistical office said that the prices of energy and costs of transport and communications declined during the month. At the same time, prices of food products and tourist services increased.
Month-on-month, the CPI fell 0.1 percent against no change forecast by economists.
