The 5-day Saudi International Motor Show which attracted a large number of car enthusiasts finally came to an end Friday, with the total number of over 100,000 visitors and new car bookings exceeding millions in riyals.
Tens of thousands of visitors streamed into the Jeddah Centre for Forums & Events every day of the five day show to experience the latest cars, auto accessories, spare parts, concept cars, navigation systems, car care products, and car audio & video systems. International automobile makers were part of the five-day extravaganza including Toyota, Volkswagen, Hyundai, Renault, MG, Lefan, Geely, Cadillac, Suzuki, and Tata.
While walking around the various stalls, a 27 year-old student Faiz Al Nasir who came along with his friends to the show, said “this year’s motor show has a variety of activities and personally I enjoyed the customized cars.”
On the other side, Mohammed Al Bukiri noted that he came to the motor show to find a car for his son, he said “it is the right place to search for a car and I think after going through the stands of the auto dealers, I believe we know now what to buy according to our budget.”
“We are delighted with the public’s enthusiasm for this year’s 34th edition. The event has exceeded expectations in scale to offer manufacturers a most satisfying and profitable platform,” said Zahoor Siddique, Vice President of Al Harithy Company for Exhibitions.
He added “we are very happy to transform the show from a mega car exhibition into an experience that is entertaining for motoring enthusiasts.” “In addition, this year’s show heralded the resurgence of the automotive industry coming out of the economic crisis of the past few years.”
All of the exhibitors have expressed a high level of satisfaction with this year’s edition which seems to have definitively proved that Saudi market is still in good shape. The Saudi International Motor Show also proved the ideal environment for parts, sound systems, accessories and customization companies to showcase their products and services.
