KL shares close lower

Shares of the following companies had unusual moves in Malaysia trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are as of the close in Kuala Lumpur.

The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI Index fell 0.2 per cent to 1,576.07.

Handal Resources Bhd rose 3.6 per cent to 43.5 sen, the highest close since April 18. The manufacturer of cranes for the offshore oil and gas industry said it got a crane services contract from Petronas Carigali Sdn Bhd valued at RM120 million.

Kumpulan Perangsang Selangor Bhd added 3 per cent to RM1.04, the highest close since May 10. The property developer signed an agreement to buy 40 per cent of NGC Energy Sdn Bhd for RM40 million.

TRC Synergy Bhd gained 2.4 per cent to 64.5 sen, the biggest advance since May 17. The construction company’s share-price estimate was raised to 80 sen from 73.5 sen at Hong Leong Investment Bank Bhd. The stock’s so-called fair value was increased to 79 sen from 75 sen at OSK Holdings Bhd.
