A trio of highly-anticipated trade shows focusing on construction, interiors and real estate were opened in Bahrain today (April 26) by His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, the Prime Minister of Bahrain.

The flagship gulfBID construction show along with the gulfInteriors exhibition and the Gulf Property Show are being staged concurrently at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre (BIECC) until Thursday.

As many as 144 local, regional and international exhibitors will be present at the events, showcasing the latest products, services, technologies and projects available in the region.

Held under the patronage of HRH the Prime Minister, the ‘3Gs’, as the shows are affectionately known, continue to capture the imagination of exhibitors and visitors from the region and beyond.

The Premier toured the exhibition stands and appreciated the products on display.

Organised by Hilal Conferences & Exhibitions (HCE) of Bahrain, the three exhibitions are considered valuable launchpads into the multi-billion-dollar construction, interiors and real estate markets of the Northern Gulf. In 2015, the shows attracted more than 7,000 visitors.

HCE managing director Jubran Abdulrahman said the shows offer unrivalled networking and deal-making potential through the construction-interiors-real estate supply chain as a ‘one-stop shop’ concept.

"Our vision is to promote the GCC’s capacity across the construction, interiors and real estate sectors. This regional vision is due in no small part to the support and patronage of HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain," he stated.

"The 2016 edition of the shows has seen a real growth of participants from Bahrain and across the GCC looking to offer a ‘Made in the GCC’ option. There is no other show in the region which offers the chance to buy property, source construction materials and services and select interior décor products under one roof," he added.

The gulfBID will host an increased number of companies from Saudi Arabia including Espac, Saudi Bitumen Industrial Company, Rafee Metal Industries Factory, Al Kaabi For Testing Equipment, Plastbau Arabia, Al Atrash Trading, O2ProFormance, Fabco Plastic Factory, Silkcoat, Jawdah For Trading & Industrial Company, Arabtech Construction, and Rezayat Protective Coating, displaying products as varied as high-tech building fabrics, concrete products, polystyrene building blocks, scaffolding, PVC tents and steel structures and cranes.

The expo enjoys strategic sponsorship from Bahrain-based Haji Hassan Group which will showcase products and services from its portfolio of building materials firms - such as Bahrain Precast Concrete, Bahrain Blocks, Haji Hassan Readymix, and Arabian Chemical Industries (Isola) - as well as heavy equipment.

Kuwaiti Manager Contracting (KMC) also continues as a strategic sponsor of gulfBID. Meanwhile, gulfInteriors 2016 will feature an eclectic range of local, regional and international brands covering furniture, paints, kitchens, bathrooms, lighting, ceramics, wall coverings, art and accessories.

From furniture designed in Bahrain by Mobilia Uno to household storage systems from Saudi Arabia’s Creative Closets, gulfInteriors will continue to be defined by its creative energy in a boutique setting.

For 2016, the addition of leading design houses such as Titolo and Archinteriors brings an exciting perspective of regional designers using major brands such as Armani Casa and Zoffany to express their creativity.

The gulfInteriors enjoys strategic sponsorship from Hempel Paints and KMC Building Materials. Hempel Paints leads the increased participation from paint companies at the exhibition while KMC’s global partners on its stand include Babini (Italy), Wagner (Germany), Topstar, LE-AL Executive Office
