The MSM30 Index increased 0.10 per cent to close at 6,010 points. The advance to decline ratio at the end of the trading session stood at 2.67:1. The total shares exchanged increased by 10.59 per cent to 7.322 million shares and the total value traded increased by 23.15 per cent to RO2.020 million.

The market breadth was positive with 16 gainers and six losers out of 45 traded securities.

Amongst the sectors, Banking and Investment Sector increased 0.51 per cent to close at 6,665 points. The Services and Insurance Sector increased 0.38 per cent to close at 2,539 points. The Industrial Sector increased 0.29 per cent to close at 6,730 points. The top two gainers were Jazeera Steel Product (4.66%) and United Finance (3.66%) to close at RO0.292 and RO0.085. The top two losers were Food International (-6.87%) and Oman Hol. Int. (-4.26%) to close at RO0.122 and RO0.225.

The top two by volume traded were Oman Inv. & Fin. (1.352 million shares) and Jazeera Steel Product (1.320 million shares). The top two by value traded were Jazeera Steel Product (RO0.386 million) and Omantel (RO0.356 million).

Dubai shares drop

Dubai shares retreated to the lowest level in three months. The benchmark DFM General Index slipped 1.1 per cent to 1,521.15, the lowest since March 22, at the 2pm close.

The Bloomberg GCC 200 Index rose 0.1 per cent at 2:02pm in Dubai. Abu Dhabi’s ADX General Index gained 0.1 per cent. Saudi Arabia’s Tadawul All Share Index increased 0.3 per cent.
