The MSM 30 index ended on a flat note at 6758.40 points, marginally up by 0.01 per cent. MSM Shariah Index also gained marginally by 0.03 per cent at 1081.31points.
Al Sharqiyah Investment Holding was the most active in terms of volume, while Bank Muscat was the most active in terms of turnover. National Gas was the top gainer and closed up by 9.76 per cent. National Securities was the top loser and declined by 5.41 per cent.
Altogether 1,684 trades were executed in yesterday's session generating a turnover of OMR11.16 million with over 28.46 million shares traded. Out of 56 traded stocks, 19 advanced, 15 declined and 22 were unchanged. Foreign investors were net buyers to the tune of OMR1.04 million worth of shares, whereas GCC & Arab investors switched to net sellers at OMR714,000 followed by Omani investors who sold OMR323,000 worth of shares.
Financial Sector Index up by 0.33 per cent at 8211.35 points. Al Sharqiya Investment, Al Anwar Holding, DIDIC, ONIC Holding and Bank Dhofar increased by 8.37 per cent, 2.16 per cent, 1.29 per cent, 1.29 per cent and 1.13 per cent respectively. National Securities, Al Madina Investment, Global Financial Investment and Oman Emirates declined by 5.41 per cent, 1.30 per cent, 0.61 per cent and 0.51 per cent respectively.
The Industrial Sector Index up by 0.31 per cent at 10379.38 points. Jazeera Steel Product, Voltamp Energy, Al Hassan Engineering and Al Anwar Ceramic increased by 2.94 per cent, 2.51 per cent, 0.76 per cent and 0.36 per cent respectively. Oman Fisheries, National Aluminum, Oman Cement, Gulf International Chemicals and Raysut Cement declined by 0.96 per cent, 0.54 per cent, 0.50 per cent, 0.48 per cent and 0.25 per cent respectively.
Services Sector Index down by 0.16 per cent at 3620.03 points. National Gas, Al Jazeira Services, Port Service Corp and Nawras increased by 9.76 per cent, 1.89 per cent, 0.38 per cent and 0.35 per cent respectively.
Oman Telecom, Sohar Power, OIFC, Renaissance Services and ACWA Power Barka declined by 1.31 per cent, 1.26 per cent, 1.02 per cent and 0.55 per cent respectively.
