Muscat bourse's general index, MSM30 Index, gained 0.24 per cent to close at 6,235.05 points. The MSM Shariah Index increased 0.12 per cent to close at 978.35 points.
Al Anwar Holding was the most active in terms of volume as well as turnover. The top gainer was Construction Materials, up by 2.86 per cent, while Taageer Finance, down by 9.26 per cent, was the top loser.
As many as 1,033 trades were executed in the session generating a turnover of OMR4.79 million with more than 15.53 million shares changing hands. Out of 40 traded securities, 18 advanced, six declined and 16 remained unchanged. Omani investors remained net buyers to the tune of OMR756,000 while foreign investors were net sellers at OMR651,000 followed by GCC & Arab investors, who sold stocks amounting to OMR105,000.
Financial Index closed on a positive note at 7,604.04 points, up by 0.67 per cent. NBO, Al Anwar Holding, Gulf Investment Services, Al Sharqia Investments and Oman & Emirates increased 2.56 per cent, 2.24 per cent, 2.10 per cent, 1.88 per cent and 1.64 per cent, respectively. Taageer Finance, down by 9.26 per cent, was the only sector loser.
Industrial Index retreated 0.40 per cent to end the day at 8,314.79 points. Construction Materials and Al Hassan Engineering increased 2.86 per cent and 0.82 per cent, respectively. Oman Cables and Galfar Engineering fell 2.88 per cent and 2.08 per cent, respectively.
Services Sector Index gained 0.11 per cent and closed at 3,475.79 points. Al Jazeera Steel, OIFC, Ooredoo, ACWA Power and National Gas increased 1.80 per cent, 1.38 per cent, 1.14 per cent, 0.48 per cent and 0.45 per cent, respectively.
United Power, Al Maha Petroleum and Al Batinah Power declined 2.25 per cent, 1.33 per cent and 1.12 per cent, respectively.
