The general index of the Muscat Securities Market (MSM) gained 0.59 per cent to close at 7,095.13 on Wednesday, rebounding sharply to cover the losses of the last two days.

Both Omani retail and institutions were net sellers, while GCC and Arab investors were net buyers on Wednesday.

While a total 56 stocks traded on Wednesday, the market breadth was positive with 23 advancing stocks to nine decliners.

The gain was supported by all the sectoral indices. The Financial and Industrial indices rose 0.56 per cent and 0.28 per cent, respectively, while the Services index was up 0.37 per cent. The MSM Shariah Index increased 0.16 per cent.

Market volume slipped 33.7 per cent to 29.3mn, while total turnover fell one per cent to RO11.2mn. Total market capitalisation increased 0.31 per cent to RO14.46bn.
