Muscat bourse remained buoyant with the MSM 30 Index gaining 0.75 per cent to close at 5,652.01 points, its highest level since November 2015. The MSM Sharia Index ended at 854.98 points, up by 0.39 per cent.

Al Anwar Holding was the most active in terms of volume as well as turnover. Packaging Company was the day’s top gainer, up by 9.66 per cent, while Al Maha Petroleum was the top loser, with loss of 2.94 per cent.

As many as 1,831 trades were executed on Sunday, generating turnover of OMR7.2 million with 37.2 million shares changing hands. Out of 49 traded securities, 27 advanced, four declined and 18 remained unchanged. Omani investors were net buyers for OMR1.01 million while foreign investors were net sellers for OMR936,000 followed by GCC and Arab investors for OMR82,000 worth of shares.

Financial Index rallied impressively by 1.39 per cent to end at 7,258.11 points. Gulf Investment Services, Oman & Emirates, Oman United Insurance, Global Financial Investment and Al Sharqia Investment gained by 7.69 per cent, 5.93 per cent, 4.33 per cent, 3.97 per cent and 2.70 per cent, respectively.

Industrial Index closed positively at 6,818.02 points, up by 0.66 per cent. Packaging Company, Galfar Engineering, Al Jazeera Steel, Construction Materials and Al Maha Ceramics increased by 9.66 per cent, 3.57 per cent, 3.33 per cent, 2.94 per cent and 2.05 per cent, respectively. Oman Textiles, down by 0.62 per cent, was the only sector loser.

Services Index gained by 0.16 per cent to finish at 3,142.18 points. OIFC, Phoenix Power, Oman Telecommunications Company, Renaissance Services and Port Services gained by 2.39 per cent, 2.01 per cent, 1.91 per cent, 1.57 per cent and 1.37 per cent, respectively. Al Maha Petroleum, Sembcorp Salalah and Al Jazeera Services declined by 2.94 per cent, 0.75 per cent and 0.74 per cent, respectively.
