The MSM 30 Index declined by 0.12 per cent to close at 6,945.53 points, whereas MSM Shariah Index closed up by 0.04 per cent at 1,060.92 points.

OIFC was the most active in terms of volume as well as turnover. Al Madina Investments, which gained 2.80 per cent, was as the top gainer, while Dhofar Cattlefeed declined by 6.12 per cent, making it the top loser of the day.

Altogether 980 trades were executed in Sunday's session generating a turnover of OMR4.03 million with over 13.43 million shares traded.

Out of 45 traded stocks, 15 advanced, 12 declined and 18 remained unchanged. Omani investors were net buyers to the tune of OMR250,000 worth of shares. GCC and Arab investors were net sellers at OMR217,000 followed by foreign investors at OMR33,000 worth of shares.

Financial Sector Index closed at 8,367.46 points, down by 0.17 per cent. Al Madina Investments, Bank Nizwa, DBIH, Al Anwar Holdings and Bank Sohar increased by 2.80 per cent, 1.18 per cent, 0.96 per cent, 0.55 and 0.43 per cent respectively. Oman & Emirates Holding, Al Madina Takaful, National Bank of Oman, Bank Muscat and Al Sharqia Investment Services declined by 1.97 per cent, 1.60 per cent, 1.21 per cent, 1.18 per cent and 0.78 per cent respectively.

Industrial Sector Index closed flat at 10,219.70 points, up by 0.03 per cent. Galfar Engineering, Al Hassan Engineering, Gulf International Chemicals and Raysut Cement increased by 1.56 per cent, 0.57 per cent, 0.43 per cent and 0.25 per cent respectively. Dhofar Cattlefeed and Al Anwar Ceramics declined by 6.12 per cent and 0.35 per cent respectively.

Services Sector Index gained 0.11 per cent to close at 3,684.75 points. OIFC, Port Services, United Power and Sembcorp Salalah increased by 2 per cent, 0.91 per cent, 0.31 per cent and 0.25 per cent respectively. National Gas, Nawras and Omantel declined by 0.48 per cent, 0.34 per cent and 0.31 per cent respectively.
