The MSM 30 Index ended lower amid lower trading activity and closed at 6,717.78 points, down by 0.11 per cent.

MSM Sharia Index closed at 1,058.96 points, down by 0.13 per cent. Oman & Emirates was the most active in terms of volume while Omantel was the most active in terms of turnover. Al Maha Petroleum which gained 3.30 per cent was the top gainer of the day, while ONIC Holding declined by 5.66 per cent made it the top loser of the day.

A total number of 725 trades were executed in Monday's trading session generating turnover of OMR3.92 million with over 9.97 million shares traded. Out of 44 traded stocks, six advanced, 16 declined and 22 remained unchanged.

Foreign investors switched to net buyers for OMR821,000 while Omani investors switched to net sellers for OMR533,000 followed by GCC & Arab investors for OMR288,000 worth of shares.

Financial Sector Index closed at 7,980.53, a decline of 0.07 per cent. Bank Nizwa, HSBC Bank Oman and Ominvest increased by 1.15 per cent, 0.66 per cent and 0.56 per cent respectively. ONIC Holding, Sharqiya Investment, Gulf Investment Services and Bank Sohar declined by 5.66 per cent, 4.35 per cent, 1.86 per cent and 0.90 per cent respectively.

Industrial Sector Index closed at 10,146.64 points, down by 0.17%. Voltamp Energy and National Aluminium increased by 0.48 per cent and 0.35 per cent respectively. Oman Fisheries, Al Anwar Ceramics, Al Hassan Engineering and Oman Cement declined by 3.49 per cent, 0.68 per cent, 0.51 per cent and 0.56 per cent respectively.

Services Sector Index rose by 0.25 per cent to close at 3,597.11 points. Al Maha Petroleum was the only gainer.
