Shares on the Muscat Securities Market (MSM) fell further on lack of support even at lower levels. The MSM 30 Index ended lower at 6,152.30 points, down by 0.63 per cent. The MSM Sharia Index closed at 959.59 points, down by 0.17 per cent.
Phoenix Power was the most active in terms of volume, while Al Anwar Holding was the most active in terms of turnover. United Power remained the top gainer, up by 9.92 per cent, while the top loser was HSBC Bank Oman, down by 3.10 per cent.
As many as 628 trades were executed in the session generating a turnover of OMR2.36 million with more than 10.52 million shares changing hands. Out of 46 traded securities, one advanced, 22 declined and 23 remained unchanged. Omani investors were net buyers to the tune of OMR524,000, while foreign investors, who sold shares worth OMR502,000, were the net sellers, followed by GCC and Arab investors at OMR22,000.
Financial Index down by 1.11 per cent to close at 7,428.85 points. HSBC Bank Oman, Al Anwar Holding and Bank Sohar declined by 3.10 per cent, 2.44 per cent and 2.15 per cent, respectively.
Industrial Index closed at 7919.77 points, down by 0.28 per cent. Al Hassan Engineering, Oman Fisheries, Al Maha Ceramics and Galfar Engineering declined by 2.20 per cent, 1.96 per cent, 1.92 per cent and 1.90 per cent, respectively.
Services Index down by 0.38 per cent to close at 3,354.92 points. United Power was the only gainer and was up by 9.96 per cent to close at OMR2.870. Renaissance Services, Port Services, OIFC and Oreedoo Oman declined by 2.43 per cent, 2.26 per cent, 1.02 per cent and 0.53 per cent, respectively.
