Nifty to remain rangebound, may test 4900; R Comm eyed

28/05/2012 06:40 AST  The Economic Times

The 50-share Nifty index is expected to open soft on Monday tracking positive Asian markets while investors will keep a close eye on Reliance Communications Ltd which announced its quarterly results over the weekend.

Reliance Communications Ltd after India's second-biggest mobile phone carrier by subscribers said its fourth-quarter profit nearly doubled; its first profit rise in 11 quarters on sharply lower costs.

Trading is expected to be subdued on Monday amid a lack of key economic data and a US market holiday for Memorial Day.

"Markets could remain lackluster, as most of the global markets remain closed. However, for the week, the markets would keenly await GDP data and F&O expiry for the month of May," Kunal Bothra, Senior Technical Analyst, Manager Advisory, LKP Securities Ltd, said.
