Oman's benchmark index — MSM30 Index — closed at 6405.64 points, up by 0.32 per cent. The MSM Sharia Index was up by 0.27 per cent to close at 985.89 points. Bank Muscat was the most active in terms of volume as well as turnover. Today's top gainer was Global Financial Investment, up by 3.64 per cent, while Oman Textile Holding, down by 8.61 per cent, was the top loser for the day.

As many as 675 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR2.70 million with more than 8.36 million shares changing hands. Out of 48 traded securities, 15 advanced, 12 declined and 21 remained unchanged. GCC and Arab investors were net buyers for OMR244,000 followed by foreign investors for OMR55,000 while Omani investors switched to net sellers for OMR299,000 worth of shares.

Financial Index closed at 7825.86 points, up by 0.13 per cent. Global Financial Investment, Oman Takaful , Bank Sohar and United Finance increased by 3.64 per cent, 2.59 per cent, 1.09 per cent and 0.78 per cent, respectively. Al Madina Takaful, Gulf Investment Services, DBIH and Al Anwar Holding declined by 2.2 per cent, 2.13 per cent, 1.52 per cent and 1.21 per cent, respectively.

Industrial Index closed at 8329.61 points, up by 0.37 per cent. Oman Cement, Oman Fisheries and Raysut Cement increased by 2.30 per cent, 1.89 per cent and 1.61 per cent, respectively. Oman Textiles, National Mineral Water, Al Maha Ceramics and Oman Flour Mills declined by 8.61 per cent, 3.75 per cent, 1.50 per cent and 0.89 per cent, respectively.

Services Sector Index was up by 0.24 per cent to close at 3,454.02 points. Al Jazeira Services, Renaissance Services, Al Batinah Power and National Gas increased by 2.31 per cent,1.74 per cent, 0.53 per cent and 0.51 per cent, respectively. Oreedoo Oman was the only loser and was down by 0.51 per cent to close at OMR0.776.
