MSM30 Index ended on a flat note at 6,266.52 points, marginally up by 0.02 per cent. The MSM Sharia Index closed at 956.55 points, down by 0.03 per cent. Al Anwar Holding was the most active in terms of volume as well as turnover. Monday's top gainer was Construction Materials, up by 10.00 per cent while Port Services Corp, down by 8.08 per cent, was the top loser.
A total number of 740 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR2.40 million with more than 8.07 million shares changing hands. Out of 46 traded securities, 10 advanced, 16 declined and 20 remained unchanged. At the session close, Omani Investors were net buyers for OMR640,000 while foreign investors were net sellers for OMR564,000 followed by GCC & Arab Investors for OMR76,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed at 7,728.26 points, up by 0.02 per cent. Global Financial Investment, National Bank of Oman, Ominvest and ONIC Holding increased by 6.25 per cent, 1.69 per cent, 1.40 per cent and 0.93 per cent respectively. Al Sharqiya Investment, Al Madina Takaful, Al Madina Investment and Al Batinah Development declined by 3.52 per cent, 3.48 per cent, 3.12 per cent and 1.92 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index ended at 8,294.46 points, up by 0.22 per cent. Construction Materials, Gulf International Chemicals and Al Anwar Ceramics increased by 10.00 per cent, 2.15 per cent and 1.06 per cent respectively. Al Hasan Engineering was the only loser in the sector and was down by 0.81 per cent to close at OMR0.123.
Services Sector Index closed on a flat note at 3,446.07 points, down by 0.08 per cent. Al Maha Petroleum, Al Suwadi Power and Al Batinah Power increased by 2.32 per cent, 2.67 per cent and 1.60 per cent respectively. Port Services Corp, Jazeira Services, National Gas and OIFC declined by 8.09 per cent, 1.70 per cent, 1.00 per cent and 0.44 per cent respectively.
