The MSM30 Index rebounded on Tuesday and closed on a high note at 7,400.04 points, up by 0.60 per cent. MSM Sharia Index closed at 1,071.32, up by 0.09 per cent. Oman United Insurance was the most active in terms of volume as well as turnover. Oman & Emirates Holding which gained 3.27 per cent was the top gainer while the top loser of the day was Dhofar Cattlefeed, down by 2.63 per cent.
A total number of 1,234 trades were executed on Tuesday's trading session generating turnover of OMR6.35 million with over 16.36 million shares traded. Out of 50 traded stocks, 22 advanced, six declined and 22 were unchanged. Omani investors were net buyers for OMR204,000 while GCC and Arab investors were net sellers for OMR175,000 followed by foreign investors for OMR29,000 worth of shares.
Financial Sector Index
Financial Sector Index closed with strong gains at 9,026.14 points, up by 1.08 per cent. Oman & Emirates, Al Sharqia Investments, Oman United Insurance, ONIC Holding and United Finance increased by 3.27 per cent, 2.80 per cent, 2.44 per cent, 2.35 per cent and 2.17 per cent respectively. Al Madina Takaful declined by 0.84 per cent to close at OMR0.118.
The Industrial Sector Index closed marginally higher at 10,188.03, up by 0.07 per cent. National Aluminium and Galfar Engineering increased by 1.18 per cent, and 0.83 per cent respectively. Dhofar Cattlefeed, Oman Fisheries and Al Hassan Engineering declined by 2.63 per cent, 1.09 per cent and 0.65 per cent respectively.
Services Sector Index was up by 0.57 per cent to close at 3,795.12 points. Al Jazeera Services, SMN Power, Sembcorp Salalah, Nawras and Renaissance Services increased by 3.26 per cent, 2.47 per cent, 2.04 per cent, 1.23 per cent and 0.56 per cent respectively. Al Suwaidi Power and Omantel declined by 0.56 per cent and 0.29 per cent respectively.
