The MSM30 Index had marginal gains of 0.07 per cent to close at 5,788.38 points. The MSM Sharia Index closed at 882.72 points, down 0.16 per cent. HSBC Bank was the most active in terms of volume and turnover. Tuesday’s top gainer was Ahli Bank, up 2.96 per cent while Al Jazeera Steel was the top loser, down 2.44 per cent.
A total number of 477 trades were executed on Tuesday, generating turnover of OMR1.56 million with 9.9 million shares changing hands. Out of 40 traded securities, three advanced, 11 declined and 16 remained unchanged. At the session close, Omani investors remained net buyers for OMR84,000 while foreign investors were net sellers for OMR48,000 followed by GCC & Arab Investors for OMR36,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed at 7,272.98 points, down 0.04 per cent. Ahli Bank and Bank Dhofar gained 2.96 per cent and 1.31 per cent respectively. Al Sharqia Investments, Al Anwar Holding, Oman & Emirates Holding, Al Izz Bank and HSBC Bank declined 2.22 per cent, 2.20 per cent, 2.17 per cent, 1.69 per cent and 1.01 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index retreated 0.40 per cent to end at 7,268.96 points. Al Jazeera Steel, Al Anwar Ceramics, Galfar Engineering and Oman Fisheries decreased 2.44 per cent, 1.92 per cent, 1.85 per cent and 1.67 per cent respectively.
Services Index continued its stable trend to close at 3,246.14 points, up 0.01 per cent. ACWA Power, up 1.14 per cent, was the only sector mover.
