Gains in Ahli Bank shares supported the MSM30 Index to end higher at 5,782.62 points, a gain of 0.18 per cent. The MSM Sharia Index closed at 908.50 points, down by 0.19 per cent. Renaissance Services was the most active in terms of volume as well as turnover. Tuesday’s top gainer was Ahli Bank, up by 5.26 per cent while top loser was Takaful Oman, down by 3.57 per cent.
A total number of 655 trades were executed during the day’s trading session generating turnover of OMR2.4 million with more than 10.8 million shares changing hands. Out of 37 traded securities, six advanced, 14 declined and 17 remained unchanged. At session close, Omani investors were net buyers for OMR368,000 while Foreign investors were net sellers for OMR304,000 followed by GCC & Arab investors for OMR64,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed at 6,961.99 points, up by 0.20 per cent. Ahli Bank, up by 5.26 per cent, was the only sector gainer. Takaful Oman, Al Madina Investment, Al Anwar Holding, Al Batinah Development and Al Sharqia Investments 3.57 per cent, 3.33 per cent, 2.20 per cent, 1.98 per cent and 1.82 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index closed at 7,497.82 points, down marginally by 0.02 per cent. Voltamp Energy gained 2.42 per cent to close at OMR0.424. Galfar Engineering, Oman Cables and Al Maha Ceramics declined 1.02 per cent, 0.78 per cent and 0.39 per cent respectively.
Services Index remained stable at 3,233.74 points, up by 0.01 per cent. Renaissance Services, Al Batinah Power and Al Suwadi Power advanced 1.79 per cent, 0.47 per cent and 0.47 per cent respectively. Port Services, OIFC, National Gas and Omantel declined 1.89 per cent, 1.16 per cent, 0.62 per cent and 0.61 per cent respectively.
