Followed by regional cues, MSM30 Index closed with gains at 6,648.84 points, up by 1.14 per cent. MSM Sharia index up by 0.27 per cent to close at 985.08 points. Al Anwar Holding remained the most active in terms of volume as well as turnover.
Oman Fisheries, up by 8.82 per cent was the top gainer on Tuesday while HSBC Bank Oman, down by 2.083 per cent, was the top loser of the day.
A total number of 2962 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR13.42 million with more than 55.8 million shares changing hands. Out of 49 traded stocks, 34 advanced, one declined and 14 remained unchanged.
Omani investors switched to net buyers for OMR1.51 million while GCC & Arab Investors were net sellers for OMR833,000 followed by Foreign Investors for OMR678,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed at 8,203.14 points, up by 1.85 per cent. Al Sharqiya Investment, Oman & Emirates, Gulf Investment Services and Al Madina Investment increased by 7.14 per cent, 7.08 per cent, 6.32 per cent and 4.17 per cent respectively. HSBC Bank Oman was the only loser and was down by 2.08 per cent to close at OMR0.143.
Industrial Index increased by 1.02 per cent to close at 8636.07 points. Oman Fisheries, Al Hassan Engineering, Galfar Engineering and Construction Material Industries increased by 8.82 per cent, 7.75 per cent,5.33 per cent and 2.70 per cent respectively.
Services Sector Index closed at 3,569.29 points, up by 0.70 per cent. National Gas, OIFC , Al Jazeira Services and Renaissance Services increased by 5.34 per cent, 4.24 per cent,2.34 per cent and 1.70 per cent respectively.
