The MSM30 Index closed with gains at 6,214.99 points, up by 0.42 per cent. The MSM Sharia Index closed at 949.14 points, down by 0.16 per cent. Global Financial Investment was the most active in terms of volume as well as turnover. Ahli Bank, up by 6.81 per cent, was the day's top gainer while Gulf International Chemicals, down by 9.92 per cent was the top loser on Monday.
A total number of 865 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR5.23 million with more than 35.38 million shares changing hands. Out of 41 traded securities, 11 advanced, 14 declined and 16 remained unchanged. Omani Investors were net buyers for OMR72,000 followed by Foreign Investors for OMR8,000 while GCC & Arab Investors were net sellers for OMR80,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index gained 0.74 per cent to close at 7,643.52 points. Ahli Bank, HSBC Bank Oman and Bank Sohar increased 6.81 per cent, 3.05 per cent and 2.75 per cent respectively. Al Madina Investments, Oman & Emirates Holding, Al Batinah Development, Gulf Investment Services and Al Sharqia Investments decreased 4.76 per cent, 2.52 per cent, 2.19 per cent, 2.16 per cent and 2.10 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index closed at 8,163.95 points, down by 0.29 per cent. Al Anwar Ceramics and Galfar Engineering increased 3.30 per cent and 1.63 per cent respectively. Gulf International Chemicals, Raysut Cement, Oman Fisheries and Al Hassan Engineering decreased 9.92 per cent, 4.31 per cent, 1.64 per cent and 0.83 per cent respectively.
Services Sector Index closed the session at 3,415.87 points, up by 0.31 per cent. National Gas, Ooredoo, Port Services, Al Batinah Power and Al Maha Petroleum gained 5.88 per cent, 1.78 per cent, 0.74 per cent, 0.56 per cent and 0.47 per cent respectively. Omantel, down by 0.88 per cent, was the only sector loser.
