MSM 30 Index ended on a negative note at 6,391.30 points, down by 0.70 per cent. MSM Sharia Index also declined by 0.16 per cent, closing at 971.27 points. Global Financial Investment was the most active in terms of volume, while Al Anwar Holding was the most active in terms of turnover.

The top gainer was Dhofar Insurance, up by 7.62 per cent, while Al Hassan Engineering, down by 6.19 per cent, lost the most.

Altogether 1,647 trades were executed in the session generating a turnover of OMR5.8 million with more than 26.9 million shares changing hands. Out of 52 traded stocks, 7 advanced, 27 declined and 18 remained unchanged.

Omani investors remained net buyers to the tune of OMR399,000, while GCC and Arab investors were net sellers at OMR205,000 followed by foreign investors, who sold shares amounting to OMR193,000.

Financial Index declined by 1.17 per cent to close at 7,782.10 points. Dhofar Insurance, ahlibank and Taageer Finance increased by 7.62 per cent, 2.59 per cent and 1.33 per cent, respectively. Oman United Insurance, Al Sharqia Investments, Oman & Emirates Holding, United Finance and HSBC Bank Oman fell by 5.49 per cent, 5.33 per cent, 4.17 per cent, 3.47 per cent and 3.42 per cent, respectively.

Industrial Index closed the day at 8,414.25 points, up by 0.22 per cent. Galfar Engineering, Al Anwar Ceramics and Dhofar Cattle Feed increased by 3.70 per cent, 2.51 per cent and 2.17 per cent, respectively. Al Hassan Engineering, Oman Fisheries, Construction Materials, Al Maha Ceramics and Gulf International Chemicals declined by 6.19 per cent, 5.33 per cent, 2.56 per cent, 1.40 per cent and 1.25 per cent, respectively.

Services Sector Index ended at 3,534.18 points, down by 0.31 per cent. Sohar Power increased by 1.08 per cent to close at OMR0.376. Al Jazeera Services, OIFC, Al Suwadi Power, Ooredoo and Al Batinah Power declined by 2.87 per cent, 2.80 per cent, 2.26 per cent, 1.22 per cent and 1.14 per cent, respectively.
