MSM 30 index ended the day's session at 6,584.26 points, down by 0.15 per cent. MSM Shariah index also declined by 0.14 per cent at 1,020.91 points.
Al Anwar Holding was the most active in terms of volume while Omantel was the most active in terms of turnover. Al Sharqiah Investments was the top gainer, up by 4.94 per cent. Raysut Cement, which lost the most, was down by 4.24 per cent.
Altogether 930 trades were executed in the session generating a turnover of OMR4.9 million with more than 10 million shares changing hands. Out of 39 traded stocks, 13 advanced, 9 declined and 17 remained unchanged. At the close of the session, GCC & Arab investors switched to net buyers to the tune of OMR265,000. Foreign investors
were net sellers at OMR265,000 followed by Omani investors who sold shares amounting to OMR523.
The financial Index closed at 7,849.54 points, up by 0.21 per cent. Al Sharqia Investment Holding, ONIC Holding, Al Madina Investment, Al Anwar Holding and Bank Nizwa increased by 4.94 per cent, 3.43 per cent, 2.94 per cent, 1.66 per cent and 1.16 per cent respectively. Bank Muscat, Gulf Investment Services and Oman & Emirates Holding decreased by 1.30 per cent, 1.09 per cent and 0.67 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index declined by 0.24 per cent to close at 9,290.55 points. National Aluminium Products and Al Maha Ceramic increased by 1.21 per cent and 0.38 per cent respectively. Raysut Cement, Al Hassan Engineering and Galfar Engineering decreased by 2.01 per cent, 0.85 per cent and 0.65 per cent respectively.
Services Sector Index closed on a flat note at 3,564.58 points, down by 0.01 per cent. Al Suwadi Power, Omantel and Al Batinah Power increased by 1.71 per cent, 0.62 per cent, and 0.57 per cent respectively. National Gas and OIFC declined by 1 per cent and 0.50 per cent respectively.
