The MSM 30 Index closed with gains at 7,046.17 points, up by 0.47 per cent. The MSM Shariah index decreased by 0.10 per cent to close at 1,059.59 points.
Oman & Emirates Holding was the most active in terms of volume while Bank Muscat was the most active in terms of turnover. Gulf Investment Services, which gained 3.50 per cent, was the top gainer, while National Aluminium Products was the top loser, down by 4.17 per cent.
Altogether 1,612 trades were executed in the session generating a turnover of OMR7.67 million with more than 22.7 million shares changing hands. Out of 59 traded stocks, 16 advanced, 18 declined and 25 remained unchanged. Omani investors remained net buyers to the tune of OMR605,000 worth of shares followed by GCC & Arab investors at OMR19,000. Foreign investors sold stocks amounting to OMR625,000.
The financial Index closed on a positive note at 8,425.24 points, up 0.37 per cent. Gulf Investment Services, Gulf Investment Services Preference shares, Oman & Emirates Holding, Bank Sohar and Bank Muscat increased by 3.50 per cent, 3.33 per cent, 2.86 per cent, 2.28 per cent and 1.16 per cent respectively. DBIH, Al Madina Takaful, Bank Nizwa, Oman Orix Leasing and NBO decreased by 3.55 per cent, 2.94 per cent, 2.30 per cent, 1.33 per cent and 0.54 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index ended the day at 9,620.41 points, down by 0.55 per cent. National Aluminium Products, A'Saffa Foods, Oman Flour Mills, Al Maha Ceramics and Oman Fisheries decreased by 4.17 per cent, 3.64 per cent, 2.55 per cent, 1.99 per cent and 1.35 per cent respectively.
Services Sector Index closed at 3,697.79 points, up by 0.33 per cent. Sharqiyah Desalination, ACWA Power, Al Jazeera Services, Ooredoo and Renaissance Services increased by 1.95 per cent, 1.63 per cent, 1.50 per cent, 1.12 per cent and 0.67 per cent respectively. National Gas, Al Suwadi Power, Port Services, Sembcorp Salalah and Al Maha Petroleum decreased by 0.65 per cent, 0.56 per cent, 0.50 per cent, 0.22 per cent and 0.20 per cent respectively.
