MSM30 Index closed on a flat note at 6,308.06 points, up by 0.06 per cent. MSM Sharia index closed at 975.37 points, down by 0.44 per cent. Al Anwar Holding was the most active in terms of volume while Bank Muscat was the most active in terms of turnover.
The top gainer of the day was HSBC Bank Oman which gained 4.51 per cent while Al Anwar Ceramics, down by 4.81 per cent was the top loser.
A total number of 1,014 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR4.3 million with more than 12.8 million shares changing hands. Out of 43 traded stocks, 14 advanced, 14 declined and 15 remained unchanged.
At the session close, Omani investors remained to net buyers for OMR533,000 while foreign investors were net sellers for OMR329,000 followed by GCC & Arab investors for OMR203,000 worth of shares.
The financial Index regained some of Sunday's losses and closed at 7,650.20 points, up by 0.38 per cent. HSBC Bank Oman, Ahli Bank, Al Madina Takaful, Bank Sohar and Bank Muscat increased by 4.51 per cent, 1.96 per cent, 1.10 per cent, 1.00 per cent and 0.69 per cent respectively. Al Sharqia Investments, ONIC Holding, Bank Nizwa, Al Anwar Holding and National Bank of Oman decreased by 3.23 per cent, 2.76 per cent, 2.30 per cent, 1.29 per cent and 1.20 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index continued its bearish run to close at 8,927.82 points, down by 0.82 per cent. Al Maha Ceramics, Dhofar Cattlefeed and Al Hassan Engineering increased by 1.99 per cent, 1.14 per cent and 0.90 per cent respectively. Al Anwar Ceramics, Raysut Cement and Gulf International Chemicals decreased by 4.81 per cent, 3.19 per cent and 1.35 per cent respectively.
Services Sector Index ended the day at 3,520.43 points, up by 0.38 per cent. Ooredoo, Al Jazeera Services, OIFC, Omantel and Sembcorp Salalah increased by 2.63 per cent, 1.12 per cent, 1.02 per cent, 0.32 per cent and 0.24 per cent respectively. Sharqiyah Desalination, Al Batinah Power, Al Suwadi Power, Shell Oman Marketing and Oman Oil Marketing declined by 2.23 per cent, 1.16 per cent, 0.58 per cent, 0.25 per cent and 0.22 per cent respectively.
