Investors continue to remain bearish as the MSM 30 declined by 0.56 per cent to close at 6,222.88 points. The MSM Shariah Index increased 0.11 per cent and closed at 977.69 points.
Al Anwar Holding was the most active in terms of volume as well as turnover. Oman Fiber Optic, up by 9.72 per cent, was the top gainer, while DBIH, down by 5.68 per cent, was the top loser.
As many as 1,380 trades were executed in the session generating a turnover of OMR5.19 million with more than 17.49 million shares changing hands. Out of 46 traded securities, 10 advanced, 15 declined and 21 remained unchanged.
At the close of the session, Omani investors remained net buyers to the tune of OMR752,000 followed by GCC & Arab investors at OMR197,000, while foreign investors sold shares amounting to OMR949,000.
Financial Index closed at 7,555.30 points, down by 0.67 per cent. Global Financial Investment, Al Anwar Holding and Al Madina Takaful increased by 5 per cent, 3.33 per cent and 1.23 per cent respectively. DBIH, Ahli Bank, Bank Sohar, Bank Muscat and Ominvest declined 5.68 per cent, 3 per cent, 2.56 per cent, 1.83 per cent and 1.28 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index ended the day at 8,376.39 points, down by 0.48 per cent. Oman Fiber Optic, Al Hassan Engineering, Gulf International Chemicals and Galfar Engineering increased 9.72 per cent, 3.48 per cent, 3.17 per cent and 0.69 per cent respectively. Al Jazeera Steel, Voltamp Energy and National Aluminium decreased 5.63 per cent, 2.39 per cent and 0.61 per cent respectively.
Services Sector Index declined marginally by 0.06 per cent to close at 3,459.59 points. Ooredoo and OIFC increased 1.17 per cent and 0.49 per cent respectively. National Gas, Renaissance Services, Omantel and Al Batinah Power decreased 2.27 per cent, 1.53 per cent, 0.86 per cent and 0.55 per cent respectively.
