MSM 30 Index was down by 0.12 per cent to close at 6,584.07 points. MSM Shariah index also decreased by 0.05 per cent to close at 985.29 points.
United Finance was the most active in terms of volume as well as turnover. The top gainer was United Finance, up by 7.14 per cent, while Oman & Emirates Holding, down by 4.72 per cent, lost the most.
Altogether 1,320 trades were executed in the day's session generating a turnover of OMR4.4 million with more than 19.1 million shares changing hands. Out of 38 traded stocks, 17 advanced, 8 declined and 13 remained unchanged. Arab and GCC investors were net buyers to the tune of OMR258,000 followed by Omani investors at OMR245,000. Foreign Investors, who were the net sellers, sold shares amounting to OMR504,000.
Financial Index ended the day at 8,020.43 points, down by 0.11 per cent. United Finance, Al Sharqia Investments, DBIH, Bank Dhofar and ONIC Holding increased by 7.14 per cent, 4.44 per cent, 3.59 per cent, 1.71 per cent and 1.03 per cent respectively. Oman & Emirates Holding, NBO and Oman United Insurance decreased by 4.72 per cent, 2.25 per cent and 1.83 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index closed at 8,554.04 points, up by 0.19 per cent. Al Jazeera Steel, Al Hassan Engineering, Oman Fisheries and Al Anwar Ceramics increased by 3.64 per cent, 1.96 per cent, 1.45 per cent and 0.45 per cent respectively. Galfar Engineering and Al Maha Ceramics declined by 2.20 per cent and 1.02 per cent respectively.
Services Sector Index decreased by 0.10 per cent to close at 3,569.35 points. Al Jazeera Services, Al Batinah Power and Renaissance Services gained 0.59 per cent, 0.56 per cent and 0.41 per cent respectively. OIFC and Omantel declined 1.67 per cent and 0.56 per cent respectively.
