Omantel, the Sultanate’s first telecoms provider, has launched a unique conference call service allowing customers to easily convene a high-quality voice conference with a selected group of individuals using landlines and mobile phones. The new conferencing service, which was designed primarily for Omantel’s corporate customers is unique in its offering; making voice based conference calling a simple process. Using an easy-to-use web portal, customers can book and set up conference calls, and can even invite people once the call is under way. The system also allows for unique passwords to be created in order to ensure privacy and security.
Commenting on the launch of the new service, Ali Kashoob, Senior Manager Products Development of Corporate Business Unit at Omantel said, “Access to group communications is one of the most productive tools for successful corporate enterprises and SMEs in the country. As Oman’s leading telecom service partner, we are committed to providing local businesses with the latest communication tools, enabling them to focus on growing their operations. Our new conferencing call service enables call participants from different locations across the globe to simultaneously communicate through their mobile or landline phones with ease. The new service also has an added benefit of offering corporate customers substantial savings on their travel and telecommunications costs when organising critical multi-location conferences, meetings and other activities.”
“We are delighted to introduce yet another value added service for our corporate customers across the country. Our primary aim when developing the service was to ensure it is hassle-free and easy to use; helping in significantly reducing the effort required to set up a conference call in the Sultanate,” added Ali. Investing in the future of the nation, Omantel connects even the most remote communities of the Sultanate to each other and the rest of the world.
